I promised myself that after the surgery I would get back into blogging regularly. And by regularly, I mean at least once a week. However, I have not made that commitment to get back into blogging and here is why: I am getting married in 17 days. I am beginning to freak out. I feel like a chicken running around without its head. Drastic analogy, but 100% true.
Here is a brief update on my health. Yesterday, I drove to Virginia for the last time to see my surgeon. I went into the appointment really worried about this one surgery site in the crease of my stomach. It just looks like a gaping hole. I also do not have the greatest history with scarring. I tend to get keloids or raised scars. I was worried that was going to happen in that hole. After talking to my surgeon, he reassured me that it would heal just fine. He also released me and said I could start exercising again. Hooray!
As for the wedding, I have a few last minute details to attend to. We ordered my band and had my engagement ring sent off today. I also finalized the wedding timeline today. I need to make a playlist and send it to my DJ as well as make a list for shots for my photographer. The programs still need to be printed and the out of town guest bags need to be assembled. The decorations are being put together. I have my trial hair and make up run the Tuesday before the wedding. I am having two rehearsals to make sure we get everything right. I am hoping that the week of the wedding I will not have to worry about any of this nonsense. But I am assuming something will be out of place.
I heard back from Charleston Southern University and I will be attending this fall. I received scholarships and over half of my tuition is paid for this year! Thank goodness! My goal is to try and get the rest of my tuition paid for in scholarships. We will see is this is an attainable goal.
Over a week ago, Adam graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a degree in Systems Engineering. He was also commissioned as an officer into the NAVY. I cannot believe how fast these past four years have gone. I am so proud of him for choosing the Naval Academy and graduating in the top 12% of his class. His accomplishments are so amazing and I am so glad of all the opportunities he was given while attending this school. The day after graduation, he started working with the Systems Department at the Academy doing what he loves. Playing with robots. You will make a great officer Adam. I am looking forward to seeing what you will achieve in the future.
As of now, we are just hanging out in Annapolis until the wedding. The week before the wedding we will be in Wilmington attending to last minute wedding details and spending time with our families. We are flying out to Costa Rica the day after the wedding for a full week of fun and bliss!
Until next time!
